Custom Birdman Munny

For my fifth custom toy, I was working towards a new one to enter into the upcoming exhibition at Villain's QV store in Melbourne.  For this, it had to be a Munny - so I went with a 7" one as it's what I'm most comfortable with.

It took a while to come up with an idea but once I had it, I had to work pretty quickly to get it done as I only had a week in order to finish it.  The sculpture only took me about a day and that was largely thanks to my past experience with using Super Sculpey, but more of a help was a pasta machine my mother donated to me last year.  It made light work (and consistent work) of the feathers.

The painting took ages and was all done by hand over the course of about 4-5 nights (late nights...).  There's a couple of things I'm not super happy with but then I am a pretty bad perfectionist, and I just have to accept that it has a couple of tiny flaws as there's nothing I can do to fix them now.  The feathers have been finished with a pearlescent blue shimmer to give them more of a feathery look than a flat colour would've provided... though it's as bit hard to capture how that actually looks in a photo.

As usual I've included some process photos so you can see how it all came together.
